# 🔥 The Gem Forge

The Gem Forge is an altar where a jeweller works on your items, in front of everyone. It lights the area around it.

## What you can do

Stand in front of the forge. A panel at eye height shows what you can do with the item you hold.

**Choosing a socket:** when an item has several sockets, look at the one you want. The chosen one is marked in the panel.

While your item lies on a forge, only you can work on it or take it back.

## The perfect strike

During the ritual, a ring closes around the gem. **Click the forge when it turns gold.** A perfect strike adds **+15%** to your chance. If you miss, the normal chance applies, so you lose nothing by trying.

## Fusing gems

Hold a stack of **3 identical gems** (same gem and same level) and **sneak + right-click** the forge. You get one gem of the next level.

## Forge levels

A forge can be upgraded twice. A better forge adds to the chance of **every** socketing done on it. **Sneak + right-click with an empty hand** to open the upgrade menu.

These are the default values. Your server may have changed them.

## Placing and removing a forge

- **Place:** right-click the top of a block with a **Gem Forge** item. You can buy one from a jeweller.
- **Remove:** players with the permission can **sneak + left-click** it to get the item back.
- Forges show on the locator bar, so players can find them.
